Oh, wow, editing convention photos at 2AM really gets me sort of emotionally worked up. I’ll probably edit this to be less embarrassingly gushy once I’m sleep-sober, so here goes.
I feel like I have a lot of people to thank for making Otakon 2012 my most successful cosplay event yet, but not just Gigigachi, who helped me finish my Scout props on time, or even Danananabatman, who did my makeup Friday & Saturday with her characteristic professionalism. I also have some really great people on Tumblr to thank for their Left 4 Dead posts, because without it, the wide-eyed derp in the photo above would not have been willing to leave the house Friday morning, much less stagger around with a golf club and a little red health pack.
First off, I would like to thank Waffleawful and her AskEllisIRL blog, both for existing in the first place, and continuously proving that hyperactive white girls can pretend to be whatever they damn well please, even if it’s a burly Southern zombie-smasher. Aaaaand also for answering my creeper anon questions about clothing and Ben Nye and binder-ing with nothing but smiles and pleasantness.
On that same note, Tooraloora has been indispensable for the same creeping anon advice about wigs, weathering, and generally how to be confident about yourself and your appearance, both in and out of costume.
Finally I would like to thank Midorieyes for posting that manly makeup tutorial back in January and willingly giving up all her trade secrets for running her fantastic Ask Keith blog. My makeup-loving friend and I would not have been able to stubble our way to glory without you.
I couldn’t have done anything without your help. STAY CLASSY, ALL OF YOU. <3
